Among the highlights from the 2016 season:

- Calvin went 33-1 on the year, culminating with a straight-set win over Washington University-St. Louis in the NCAA Division III National Championship. The national title marked the third time the Knights hoisted the championship trophy.

- Calvin won the MIAA regular season title with an unblemished 16-0 record.

- Hope was the MIAA tournament champions, defeating Calvin in five sets.
