Trine offers associate, baccalaureate, master and doctorate degrees in programs for students in engineering, mathematics, science, business, teacher education, communication, criminal justice, golf management and various other fields of study.

The institution gained university status in 1975, after a decade of campus expansion. Today, that growth continues with numerous campus improvements. A residential, co-educational institution, Trine's rigorous academic programs include state-of-the-art laboratories and professional hands-on projects to enhance classroom learning.

A member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Trine offers 21 varsity sports in which 40 percent of its students participate. Its golf program includes the university-owned, 18-hole championship Zollner Golf Course, which is open to the public.
