Around the MIAA
Adrian
The Adrian College women’s cross country team came in seventh place at the MIAA Championships last week at Eastern Hills Golf Club in Kalamazoo, Mich. last week. The all-freshman squad was led by Amy Adams, running a 24:11.3 for a 23rd place finish.
Albion
Cassie Vince (Amherst, Ohio/Marion L. Steele) achieved her place in Albion College women's cross country history, becoming the first Albion woman to finish as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Most Valuable Runner. She completed the 6K course in 21:29.7, nearly 48 seconds ahead of runner-up Emily Hamilton representing Hope College. Prior to Saturday, Sarah Hall set the highest finish by an Albion woman in the MIAA Championship. Hall finished second in the 1983 meet…Leaha Sinnaeve (Leslie, Mich./Mason) ran to her first all-MIAA award as a second team performer.
Alma
The Scots ran in the MIAA Championship races Saturday (Oct. 27) afternoon in Kalamazoo. The women finished eighth, as freshman Aubrey Hemstreet finished 38th with a time of 24:42.7.

No. 14 Hope
The Hope College women’s cross country team continued its unprecedented title run with a dominating performance at the MIAA Championships in Kalamazoo. The Flying Dutch ran away with a school-record, fourth consecutive MIAA title after posting a winning score of 32 points. They finished 25 points ahead of runner-up Calvin College in the nine-team event. Hope clocked six of 12 fastest times at Eastern Hills Golf Club. Senior Emily Hamilton (Naperville, Ill./Naperville) topped the Flying Dutch with a second-place 6K effort of 22 minutes, 17.1 seconds. Junior Chelsea Miskelley (Holland, Mich./Black River) placed fifth with a run of 22:54.6. Junior Kelly Peregrine (Traverse City, Mich./T.C. Central) came in seventh at 23:04.5. Junior Anna Frazee (Watervliet, Mich./Home School) joined her teammates in claiming All-MIAA First Team honors by taking eighth in 23:12.7.
Kalamazoo
The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team finished fifth at the MIAA Championships at Eastern Hills Golf Club on Saturday. Lauren Arquette finished 13th overall with a time of 23:26 in the 6K to earn All-MIAA Second Team honors. Rachael Gallap was 24th overall (24:03) while Maria Bonvicini finished 29th (24:24). Hannah Hamilton was 55th (25:45) while Cheyenne Allyn-White was 56th (25:46). The Hornets compete next at the NCAA III Great Lakes Regional on Nov. 10 in Shelbyville, Ind.
Olivet
The Olivet College women's cross country team totaled 261 points to place ninth at the MIAA Championships. Morgan Greenman was the first Comet to finish, as she finished 54th with a time of 25:44.9.
Saint Mary's
The Belles placed sixth at the MIAA Championship race last weekend. Adele Edmonds paced the Saint Mary's pack with a time of 24:03.4 to place 23rd and earn 21 points. Katie Glenn, Sarah Allen, Brigid Conmy, and Emily Blank also scored as Blank posted a PR at the race.
