Hope Women's Cross Country Wins MIAA Championship

The Hope College women's cross country team crossed five runners in the top 10 slots on the way to a team score of 32 to win the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship Saturday at Eastern Hills Golf Club in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Leading Hope was Emily Hamilton, who finished second overall with a time of 22:17.1. Chelsea Miskelley, Kelly Peregrine, and Anna Frazee placed fifth, seventh, and eighth, respectively, to garner First Team All-MIAA honors; Avery Lowe's 10th place finish rounded out Hope's scoring.

The title was the fourth consecutive championship for Hope, and 10th all-time.

Individual champion Cassie Vince of Albion crossed the line in 21:29.7, winning by almost 50 seconds on the 119-runner field to become the first Albion runner to earn Most Valuable Runner honors.
