Albion (15-10, 4-4)

Albion was 10th in NCAA Division III statistics with an average of nearly 2.25 blocks per set for matches through Oct. 31…Chloe Webber, a sophomore middle blocker from Marshall, Mich., knocked down 10 blocks in the five-set loss at Trine University last Wednesday and she moved into seventh place on Albion’s single-season list with 83…Kate Winter, a junior opposite side hitter from White Lake, Mich., produced 16 kills at Trine.


Alma (17-12, 5-3)

Alma fell to nationally-ranked Calvin last week, but that didn't prevent the Scots from earning a spot in the MIAA Tournament. Alma is the fourth seed in the conference and will host Albion in the first round. Against the Knights, sophomore Sara Majerle (Rockford, Mich.) led Alma with nine kills and eight digs. Junior Haley Novak (Midland, Mich.) led in the assists category with 22; she also had six digs. Sophomore Haley Ullrich (Elk River, Minn.) and freshman Rachael Parrett (Gladwin, Mich.) had five kills, each.


No. 3 Calvin (22-2, 8-0)

Calvin wrapped up the outright MIAA regular season title and clinched the top seed for the MIAA Tournament with conference victories over Olivet and Alma last week. At 22-2 overall, Calvin will host the MIAA Tournament semifinals November 8 and the MIAA Tournament Final November 9. Calvin opened last week with a 25-10, 25-19, 25-13 win over Olivet. Senior Sarah DeVries had 12 kills and 17 assists. On Friday, Calvin traveled to Alma and came away with a 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 victory. Calvin hit .337 as a team in the win. DeVries had 15 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Anna Schriemer had 20 assists while freshman Aubrey Wrubel notched 15 digs. Calvin will face either Alma or Albion in the MIAA Tournament Friday night.


No. 10 Hope (21-6, 7-1)

Hope concluded the regular season with 3-0 wins against Adrian at home and Olivet on the road last week. Hope will be the No. 2 seed for the MIAA Tournament. Against Adrian, senior outside hitter Ryann Stutz (Kalamazoo, Mich.) topped Hope with nine kills and a .429 hitting percentage. Against Olivet, sophomore middle hitter McKenna Otto (Wheaton, Ill.) led the Flying Dutch with nine kills.


Kalamazoo (13-16, 0-8)

The Hornets wrapped up their season with a three-match week against Saint Mary's, Adrian, and Kenyon. Madi Goodman led the team with 25 kills over the week. Lindsey Nedd tallied 18 while Megan Williams added 11. Hannah Kerns contributed 40 assists throughout the week to lead the team. Taylor Ferguson's 49 digs were the most on the team during the week.


Olivet (14-12, 2-6)

Olivet wrapped-up its season with losses to nationally-ranked Calvin and Hope. Five seniors finished outstanding careers in a Comet uniform. Madelyn Notenbaum ends her career ranked among the all-time leaders in set assists (fourth, 2543), service aces (second, 113), digs (fourth, 1203), matches played (tied for fourth, 113), sets played (second, 412) and attack percentage (ninth, .152). Gabrielle Mundt is third all-time with 1,482 digs. Morgan Champion is Olivet's all-time leader with 985 kills and 3,345 attack attempts, tied for fourth with 113 matches played, seventh with 401 sets played and 11th with a .141 attack percentage.


Saint Mary's (13-15, 3-5)

The Belles needed two wins to keep their hopes of an MIAA Tournament alive, and the team delievered a 3-0 win at Kalamazoo and a 3-1 victory at home over Trine. Nicole Lukens posted 32 kills on the week (4.57 kills/set) to become the eighth player in Saint Mary's volleyball history to amass 1,000 career kills. Lukens is only the second player to accomplish the feat in three years. Megan Collantes added 29 kills. Brittney Tarkanyi picked up 44 digs (6.29 digs/set), and Morgan VanderWey added 82 assists (11.7 assists/set) as the Belles earned the No. 6 seed in the MIAA Tournament.
