2017 MIAA Year In Review - Men's Cross Country

Among the highlights from the 2017 season:

- Calvin finished 12th at the 2017 NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships, led by a 16th-place finish from Andrew Philipose (24:40.64). Fellow MIAA competitor, Albion's Andrew Bill (24:59.64), also tallied a top 40 finish to earn All-America honors, crossing the line in 39th place.

- Calvin earned their place in the NCAA Championship after winning the NCAA Great Lakes Regional with a team score of 61 points. Calvin's Philipose was the top MIAA runner at the meet, crossing in third place with a time of 25:16.3; Albion's Bill was seventh overall with his time of 25:36.0.

- The Knights captured their 31st consecutive MIAA title with their team victory at the 2017 MIAA Championship. Calvin's Mark DeJong and Andrew Philipose and Albion's Andrew Bill. DeJong kicked late for the individual title, out-pacing Bill by six seconds with a time of 24:15.5. Bill crossed in 24:21.7 for second place, while Philipose (24:29.3) placed third. Trine's Lewis Duke (24:41.4) and Calvin's Tyler Johnson (24:41.8) completed the top five finishers.
