2019 MIAA Year In Review - Men's Golf

Among the highlights from the 2018-19 season:

- Trailing by one stroke heading into the final 18 holes of the MIAA Men's Golf NCAA Qualifier Tournament April 27, Hope combined to shoot 282 to hopscotch Kalamazoo by four strokes to earn the MIAA's automatic berth for the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.

- Hope posted their third top 10 finish at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship in as many years. The Flying Dutchmen finished ninth out of 42 teams at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky. Aiming for a second individual title in an already storied collegiate career, Josh Gibson finished as National Runner-Up in 2019, two strokes back of the individual title with a four-round total of 287 (72-71-73-71).

- For the second consecutive year, Hope College golfer Josh Gibson was been selected as the winner of the NCAA Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award. Gibson was the first repeat Division III recipient and the seventh two-time honoree in the award's history.
