Gibson National Runner-Up, Hope Ninth at NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship

Gibson National Runner-Up, Hope Ninth at NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship

After a slow start on the opening day, the Hope College men's golf team rallied to move up the standings and post their third top 10 finish at the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship in as many years. The Flying Dutchmen finished ninth out of 42 teams at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky.

Aiming for a second individual title in an already storied collegiate career, Josh Gibson finished as National Runner-Up in 2019, two strokes back of the individual title with a four-round total of 287 (72-71-73-71). Gibson was the 2017 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Individual Champion.

Along with Gibson's runner-up finish, Hope's Ben Kramer finished tied for 15th with a four-round 296.

Hope began the tournament in 14th place, but the Flying Dutchmen moved up the leaderboard each day after: 11th on Wednesday, 10th on Thursday, and finally ninth following the team's fourth and final round Friday.
