Among the highlights from the 2016-17 season:
- Hope captured the 2017 MIAA tournament title and added the NCAA qualifier tournament win to represent the MIAA at the NCAA Championship.
- Hope's Josh Gibson won on the first playoff hole to win the 2017 NCAA Individual Championship while leading Hope to a sixth-place finish at the NCAAs. It marked the best finish by an MIAA team in league history. Calvin's John Van Noord also represented the MIAA at the national championship.
- Gibson was selected the MIAA Player of the Year, while Albion's Connor Maddalena was named the Sportsmanship Award winner.
