Junior swimmer Colin Kalkman (Zeeland, Mich. / Holland Christian) assisted the 20th-ranked Hope College men's swimming and diving team to a fifth-place finish out of eight teams in the Total Performance Invitational hosted by Kenyon College (Ohio). Kalkman was an A finalist in all four of his individual events and was a member of Hope's A relays. In the 200 backstroke, Kalkman finished seventh with a swim of 1:52.23, in the 200 individual medley, Kalkman placed 10th with a time of 1:54.27 and finished seventh in the 100 backstroke with an MIAA top time this season of 49.57. Kalkman led off the fourth-place 400-yard freestyle relay in 45.60, marking an MIAA top time this season, on top of finishing sixth in the 200-medley relay and placing eighth in the 400-medley relay.
