Sophomore swimmer Tim Hays (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Prospect) posted dominant performances in his events at the Be Better; Invitational on Friday night competing against Hope College and the University of Michigan. The annual event is held to celebrate the life of former University of Michigan and Holland Christian High School swimmer Ian Miskelley, who passed in 2020 and was a teammate of members of each of the three competing schools. Hays had a great first meet, placing 3rd in the 100 IM with a time of 52.6, which was within half of a second of the first-place time from the University of Michigan athlete and was leading with a lap to go. Hays also led off the medley relay in 24.0 and competed in one of the meets non-traditional events, the 4 x 100 IM @ 2:00, finishing 3rd overall in a superior performance over his Division III counterparts.
