Junior swimmer Sydney Sonday (Portage, Mich. / Portage Central) assisted the Calvin women's swimming and diving team to a fourth-place finish in the Calvin Winter Invitational. Sonday swam a 23.5 in the 50 freestyle (a Division III top 8 time this season), a 56.4 in the 100 butterfly and placed second in the 100 freestyle with an NCAA qualifying and Division III top 5 time of 51.1. Sonday swam a 22.8 split in the 200 freestyle relay, which placed second at the meet and finished as the top time in Division III. The Calvin A relay team posted two more top times in Division III in the 400 freestyle relay, where Sonday swam a split of 50.2, and in the 200 medley relay where Sonday swam a split of 23.1.
