Sophomore swimmer Meghan Bengelink (Holland, Mich./ Holland Christian) had an incredible start to her season competing in a tri-meet against 12th-ranked (DII) Grand Valley State and (DII) Saginaw Valley State. Not only did Bengelink post the fastest time in Division III in the 50 freestyle this season, but she also finished with a lifetime best of 24.54. She followed up the strong performance in the 50 freestyle by placing sixth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.5 Bengelink led off the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 24.09 which ranks as the top time in Division III this season. The 200 free relay finished first in the competitive field of DII opponents and posted a time that was under the NCAA selection time from last year.
