Mey Sun, Adrian, MIAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week 4/3/23
Mey Sun, Adrian College
Junior
Blue Ash, Ohio

Junior defender Mey Sun (Blue Ash, Ohio / Sycamore) assisted the Bulldogs to a 15-14 overtime victory against Concordia-Ann Arbor last Monday.  Sun was the epitome of captain and leaders as she led the team in ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (3).  Her keen awareness on the transition and ride put Adrian in great defensive positioning.  Sun observed the ride and struck when the time was right to cause turnovers.  With her limited foul count and legal play, Sun was still able to be the force that the Bulldogs needed on defense.  Adrian holds the tie score at end of regulation due to Mey's decisiveness and her ability to maintain composure as she was fouled (causing an issuance of a green card for CUAA).  In overtime, Sun was the first step in possessing the ball at Adrian's 30-yard line after amazing defensive positioning.  She then made a mid-field transition pass to the 50-yard line.  The possession would eventually lead to the overtime goal.  Sun also added a goal and an assist earlier in the contest.
