Albion (19-8, 10-4)

Albion will represent the MIAA in the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship after defeating Olivet Feb. 22, 87-85, and Trine Feb. 23, 76-73. In the semifinal against Olivet, Jamezell Davis, Jr. hit a near-half court buzzer-beater to provide the game's decisive points on the way to scoring a game-high 31 points. Albion then prevailed over Trine in the tournament title game, led by a 21-point, 11-rebound performance by Quinton Armstrong.

Alma (5-21, 4-10)

The Scots dropped an 89-74 decision to Olivet in the first round of the MIAA Tournament on Wednesday (Feb. 20). The game was within single-digits for the majority of the first half, but the Comets' size and skill became too much to handle down the stretch. Olivet shot 62-percent in the second half while Alma shot 36-percent. Junior Ryan Stevens (Lowell, Mich.) led the Scots with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists. Junior Steven Harvey (Grand Rapids, Mich.) posted 17 points on five made three-pointers


Calvin (14-13, 8-6)

The Calvin men's basketball team fell to Trine 82-78 in the MIAA Tournament Semifinal Feb. 22 at the MTI Center. The Knights end their season 14-13 overall. Saturday's game was the final contest for Calvin seniors Austin Bykerk, Carlos Amoros-Gutierrez, Isaiah McLaughlin and Jason Walter.


Hope (15-11, 8-6)

Hope ended their season with a 68-66 setback to Calvin Feb. 20, despite a 48-36 lead in points in the pait. Jason Beckman led all scorers with 31 points.


Kalamazoo (7-18, 4-10)

Season complete.


Olivet (13-14, 8-6)

The Comets defeated Alma 89-74 in the MIAA Tournament First Round before falling to Albion 87-85 in the semifinals. Against Alma, Senior Tracy Edmond scored a game-high 30 points. He also had three assists and five steals. Junior Trevor Manuel posted a double-double, 27 points and 13 rebounds, to go along with six assists, two blocks and two steals. Senior Colin Jones contributed 15 points and six rebounds. Against Albion, Edmond led the way with 20 points to go along with nine assists. Manuel had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. He also tallied five assists, three blocks and four steals.


Trine (19-8, 11-3)

The Trine University men's basketball team fell just short of Albion, 76-73, in the championship game of the 2019 MIAA Tournament at the MTI Center Feb. 23. Trine had four starters score double figures, led by a 19-point performance by Langston Johnson. Ellis Cummings had 17 points, nine rebounds, and three blocked shots.
