Among the highlights from the 2016-17 season:
- Hope and Calvin represented the MIAA in the NCAA Tournament, with Hope advancing to the Third Round after two home victories during the opening weekend.
- Hope was dominant during the MIAA regular season, posting a 13-1 record against conference foes to capture the MIAA regular season title and earn the right to host the MIAA Tournament.
- Calvin defeated Hope, 86-83, after rallying from a 14-point deficit early in the MIAA Championship game. As a result, the Knights garnered the conference's NCAA automatic berth.
