NEW ORLEANS, La. -- All nine women's cross country teams, along with twenty student-athletes, from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday, February 1.
Team awards were given to Adrian College, Albion College, Alma College, Calvin University, Hope College, Kalamazoo College, The University of Olivet, Saint Mary's College, and Trine University. The Flying Dutch led the conference with a grade-point average of 3.76.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.
In addition, eighteen student-athletes from the MIAA were deemed 2023 NCAA Division III All-Academic Athletes.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Hope is represented by seven student-athletes on the Women's All-Academic list. Calvin and Trine both have four honorees receiving honors, followed by Kalamazoo with three. Adrian and Saint Mary's each have one All-Academic athlete.
