EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Two student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were announced All-Americans by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship, including Calvin's Sienna Ruiter-Diaz and Hope's Ana Tucker. Both runners finished in the top 40 at the national meet on November 19 in East Lansing, Michigan.
Athletes from member institutions earned All-America recognition by finishing among the top-40 athletes in their gender’s respective races this past weekend.
Hope senior Ana Tucker led the conference with a fourth-place finish in the championship 6K. Tucker crossed the finish line in 22:02.1 to secure All-America honors for her third-straight season. Last month, she earned the status of 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Runner after winning the conference championship meet. She is also a three-time First Team All-MIAA honoree and a two-time All-American.
Calvin senior Sienna Ruiter-Diaz claimed All-America accolades following a 34th-place finish at the NCAA Championship with a time of 22:39.9. This is the first time in her career that she has achieved All-American status. Ruiter-Diaz is a two-time All-MIAA honoree.
In team standings, Hope concluded the event in 14th place with 412 points, followed by Calvin in 24th with a score of 578.
