SHEPHERD, Mich. -- The Hope College women's cross country team won its seventh-straight Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship on Saturday, October 29, with a final score of 39. This is the 13th women's cross country championship title in program history for the Flying Dutch.
Hope senior Ana Tucker concluded the 6K with a time of 20:52.2 to earn the status of Most Valuable Runner. Tucker clocked in over 17 seconds faster than any other runner. She is now a three-time All-MIAA honoree.
Sophomore Jenna Allman of Calvin University served as the runner-up after crossing the finish line in 21.34.7. Allman receives First Team All-MIAA recognition for the second-consecutive season. Trine University sophomore Lydia Randolph (21:38.0), Hope senior Ellie Jankowski (21:48.8), and Calvin junior Sienna Ruiter-Diaz (21:58.2) round out the top five. Jankowski and Ruiter-Diaz are now two-time All-MIAA runners.
Calvin finished the 6K in second place with 50 points, just ahead of Trine in third place with 52 points. Kalamazoo College and Albion College round out the top five teams with 122 points and 131 points, respectively.
