USTFCCCA Names Trine's Evie Bultemeyer DIII National Athlete of the Week

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced Evie Bultemeyer [Fort Wayne, Ind. / Homestead] NCAA DIII National Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Louisville Classic last weekend.

Trine was competing against six teams who are nationally ranked at the event, with Bultemeyer breaking through for the individual victory. The biggest key to her 6K win was winning by 17 seconds over second place with a time of 21:32.3.

This is the third year in a row that Butlemeyer has been named National Athlete of the Week during the cross country season. Butlemeyer previously earned the honor on September 9, 2019 and October 6, 2020, following notable victories in prior weekends.

The Trine women began the year inside the national rankings and will look to regain their position inside the top 35 with a great performance in Louisville and are looking for more success at the upcoming Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 16.
