Three MIAA Student-Athletes Named to CoSIDA Academic All-America® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams

Calvin University's Sadie Heeringa and Delaney Sall, along with Hope College's Ana Tucker, were all named to 2021‐22 Academic All‐America® Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on June 22.

CoSIDA began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored thousands of deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.

Calvin senior Sadie Heeringa represents the conference on the All-America® Second Team.  She graduated in May with a degree in Biochemistry and a grade-point average of 3.84.  Heeringa is a five-time USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree and a six-time All-America athlete.  This year, she earned All-America recognition five times: she finished 17th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, fifth in the mile at the NCAA Indoor Championships, ran the anchor leg of the DMR at the indoor meet, completed the 1500m in fifth place at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, and finished sixth in the 5000m at the outdoor meet.

Calvin sophomore Delaney Sall was selected to the All-America® Third Team.  Sall boasts a GPA of 3.86 in her studies of Spanish, Sociology, and Environmental Studies.  The Knight has previously been named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and twice to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.  Sall has achieved All-America status three times this year:  she placed eighth in the 800m at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, fifth in the DMR at the indoor meet, and fourth in the 800m at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships.

Junior Ana Tucker of Hope has earned a grade-point average of 3.79 as an Exercise Science major.  Tucker has been named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll twice in her career.  She was deemed an All-American three times this year:  she finished 11th at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, fifth in the 5000m at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships, and eighth in the 10,000m at the outdoor meet.
