Around the MIAA

Adrian

The Adrian College women's cross country team of all freshmen ran at the Inter-Regional Rumble on Oberlin College's campus on Saturday. All five girls set a new personal record in the race. They were led by Amy Adams finishing in 75th place with a time of 24:03.2 and Corrisa Hamilton in 118th place with a time of 24:56.4. Sydney Feekings ran a time of 25:40.7 for a finish in 162nd place.


Albion

Albion College runners tested the best runners in Division III in a pre-national meet. Leaha Sinnaeve (Leslie, Mich./Mason) was Albion's first runner, completing the 6K course in 24:22.6.


Alma

Aubrey Hemstreet led Alma in the Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday (Oct. 14). Hemstreet was clocked at 23:54.9 on a soft, wet course. Juniors Madeline McDonnell (Grosse Point, Mich./Grosse Point South) and Blaire Showers (Ithaca, Mich./Ithaca) came in under 25 minutes.


No. 22 Calvin

Calvin took 11th overall out of 50 teams on Saturday with a score of 367 points at the UW-Oshkosh Town Sports Pre-National Invitational. Senior Katie Diekema was Calvin's top individual finisher, placing 18th in a time of 22:29. Junior Michelle Koetje was 36th (22:58) and senior Catherine Croft 90th (23:42). Katie Diekema was named MIAA Runner of the Week.


No. 15 Hope

The Hope College women's cross country team got a glimpse at the course for this year's NCAA Division III Championship and what the competition might be like, too. The ninth-ranked Flying Dutch showed they could run with some of the best teams in the country. Hope took eighth out of 52 teams in the Pre-National 6K in Winneconne, Wis. The Flying Dutch totaled 277 points despite wet and sloppy running conditions. Senior Emily Hamilton (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) led Hope by clocking a time of 22:36.1 and taking 22nd overall out of 349 runners.


Kalamazoo

The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team competed at the Pre-Nationals Meet at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wis. on Saturday. Kalamazoo finished 46th overall. Lauren Arquette finished 94th overall with a time of 23:44 in the 6K event. Maria Bonvicini followed with a time of 25:30.


Olivet

The Olivet College women's cross country team had 780 points to finish in 26th-place at the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College. Sophomore Morgan Greenman was the Comets' top finisher, as she covered the 6K course in 25:26.0.


Saint Mary's

The Belles took 17th place in a field of 26 teams at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday. Adele Edmonds led the Belles with a time of 23:49.2 for 61st place. Katie Glenn and Sarah Allen each picked up a new 6k personal record at the race.


Trine

Finished 24th at UW-Oshkosh Invite... Evonne Bultemeyer had the top overall time for Trine of 22:53.7.
