Calvin and Hope to Participate in 2023 NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament; Hope to Host Opening Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- For the fifth-straight season, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) will feature two teams competing in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament.

Hope College -- the 2023 MIAA Champion and the 2023 MIAA Volleyball Tournament champion -- will serve as one of eight regional host sites in the opening round of competition.  Calvin University will also compete after receiving an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

The Flying Dutch (27-2 overall) are making their nineteenth appearance on the national stage.  Hope will host Bethany (22-7) in the first round of competition at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Calvin (22-7) received an at-large beth into the tournament.  This is the seventeenth-straight appearance on the national stage for the Knights.  Calvin will play Gustavus Adolphus (24-6) in the first round of regional play, hosted in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The 64-team field will compete in Regional play Nov. 16-18 at the eight host institutions.  The championship will be held Nov. 29-Dec. 2 at Roberts Pavilion in Claremont, California, with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps serving as host.

An MIAA team has participated in the NCAA Semifinals or Championship game in ten of the last thirteen years.
