HOLLAND, Mich. -- Top-seeded Hope College notched a 3-0 victory over No. 3-seed Calvin University on Saturday, November 11, to earn the program's fifth Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Volleyball Tournament title.

In a tight match, Hope claimed the first set 25-19, the second set 26-24, and the final set 25-23.  The Flying Dutch led 41-32 in kills, 41-31 in assists, and 54-51 in digs, while Calvin had a 10-9 edge in aces and a 6-5 lead in blocks.

Hope's First Team All-MIAA middle blocker Alison DeWeerd hit a match-best .400.  The 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Player Addie VanderWeide finished with a match-best 14 kills and 15 digs, while First Team All-MIAA setter Lauren Lee led with a match-best 37 assists.

Leading the Knights, Gabriella Kellogg had team bests in both hitting percentage (.320) and kills (11).  Two-time Second Team All-MIAA setter Alyssa DeVries totaled 14 assists, while First Team All-MIAA honoree Aerin Baker contributed 11 digs.

Hope receives the automatic bid into the 2023 NCAA Volleyball Championship.  The DIII selection show is scheduled for Monday, November 13, at 1:00 p.m.
