Volleyball Takes on Northwood in Exhibition Match

Midland, MI – Volleyball traveled to Northwood University for an exhibition match on Tuesday, September 6. The Scots were dropped in 3 sets by the Timberwolves, but gained valuable experience ahead of more regular season action this weekend.

Alma got off to a slower start, but slowly built momentum throughout the game, coming closer to the hosts in sets 2, and closer again in set 3.

Callie Smith was the Scots leader in terms of offense. She had a team high 5 kills, and 4 block assists. She scored a team high 7 points in the match. Defensively, Kolbey Boyd and Ashley Miller combined for 14 of Alma's 29 digs on the night.

"We came into this match with the mentality that if we left better than when we came then we succeeded, regardless of score. Every set we got better and always worked to learn from the previous point, so we met our goal." Said Head Coach Madison Kelsey.

The Scots return to regular season play this weekend, playing a pair of games on Saturday at Olivet College.
