Calvin and Hope to Compete in 2021 NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship

For the third-consecutive season, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) will feature two teams competing in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.  Calvin, the MIAA Tournament champion, along with the MIAA regular-season champion Hope, will represent the league on the national stage.  Calvin will serve as one of eight Regional host sites.

Calvin (27-3) is making its 15th-consecutive NCAA Championship appearance.  The Knights will host Penn St.-Behrend (22-5) in the First Round at the Van Noord Arena.

Hope (23-4) earned an at-large berth for the third-straight season.  The Flying Dutch are making their 17th appearance in the national championship.  Hope will play Whitworth (21-2) at Wis.-Eau Claire in the First Round.

The 64-team field will compete in Regional play Nov. 11-13 at eight host institutions; the eight teams that advance out of Regionals will be re-seeded and travel to St. Louis, Missouri for the Quarterfinals (Nov. 18), Semifinals (Nov. 19), and Championship (Nov. 20) at the Francis Fieldhouse.

An MIAA team has participated in the NCAA Semifinals or Championship game in nine of the last 11 years, including the last three seasons.  Last year's NCAA Championship was cancelled due to COVID-19.
