• Albion moved past Trine in the MIAA standings with a key victory over the Thunder Oct. 7. The Britons defeated Trine 3-2 on the weekend to stay in the top four in the league ladder.
• #6 Calvin added a trio of MIAA wins to their record last week, including sweeps of Olivet Oct. 6 and Adrian Oct. 7. Jenna Lodewyk (Sr., S, Villa Park, Ill.) helped the Calvin attack hit .450 in their victory against Olivet.
• Hope went 2-1 in MIAA play, defeating Albion at home Oct. 3, 3-1, before a 3-2 victory over Olivet Oct. 7; against the Comets, the Flying Dutch prevailed in the fifth set, 21-19.
• Kalamazoo picked up their first two MIAA wins of the season, winning twice on the road; the Hornets defeated Olivet Oct. 3, 3-0, and Adrian Oct. 6, 3-2.
• Saint Mary's earned a pair of MIAA victories, extending their winning streak to five matches. Following a 3-0 win over Alma Oct. 6, the Belles topped Kalamazoo Oct. 7, 3-1.
• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Oct. 9 were:
- Player: Maria Katrantzi, Kalamazoo
- Specialist: Jenna Lodewyk, Calvin
• In the Oct. 10 release of the AVCA Division III poll, Calvin stayed at #6 nationally, while Hope is now receiving votes.
