No. 10 Hope Volleyball Downs Trine In Four Sets On The Road

Double-digit kills from three Hope College volleyball players propelled the 10th-ranked Flying Dutch to a 25-19, 23-25, 25-12, 25-14 win at Trine on Tuesday.

Hope's balanced attack featured 11 kills apiece for junior outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch of White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS) and freshmen outside hitters Vanessa Reynhout of Freeport, Michigan (Lakewood HS) and Katie Rietberg of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS).

The Flying Dutch improved their record to 19-5 overall and 10-2 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.

Junior middle hitter Courtney Van Houzen of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City West HS), chipped in nine kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS), had eight kills.

Hope totaled 53 kills to Trine's 31.

Senior setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), directed the Flying Dutch with 46 assists.

Hope returns to action on Friday, Oct. 23 with a 6:30 p.m. match at Adrian.
