Hope Volleyball Sweeps Olivet Behind 12 Sarah Feldpausch Kills

Outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch continued her double-digit kill output for the 14th-ranked Hope College volleyball team in a 3-0 win against visiting Olivet on Tuesday. The junior from White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS), recorded a match-high 12 kills during the 25-20, 25-19, 25-7 win at DeVos Fieldhouse.

It was the 12th time this season Feldpausch reached double-digits in kills.

Feldpausch tops Hope with 202 kills in 16 matches this season.

The Flying Dutch pushed their record to 12-4 overall. They completed the first half of Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play with a 7-1 league record.

Two Hope players chipped in eight kills apiece: sophomore Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS), and freshman Katie Rietberg of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS).

Seniors Allie Mitchell of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), and Jayne Kessel of Byron Center, Michigan (Grand Rapids South Christian HS), led the Flying Dutch defense with 19 and 16 kills, respectively. 

Hope returns to action on Friday, Oct. 9. The Flying Dutch host Albion for a 6:30 p.m. match on the main court. It is Youth Night and will feature a post-match team poster giveaway and autograph session.
