Hope Volleyball Sweeps DePauw, Loses To Ohio Northern

Outside hitter Haley Muller nearly matched her own school record for kills while the Hope College volleyball team split its two matches at the Wittenberg Fall Classic on Saturday in Springfield, Ohio.

The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS), totaled 23 kills for the 12th-ranked Flying Dutch during a 17-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-19 defeat to Ohio Northern. It is one off her four-set record of 24 for kills in a 25-point set.

Muller also recorded 10 kills during a 25-21, 25-23, 26-24 win against DePauw, Indiana, in Saturday's first match.

Hope is now 7-4 on the season.

Junior outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch of White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS), led Hope against DePauw with 11 kills. Feldpausch also had 15 kills against Ohio Northern.

Senior setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), posted 55 assists against Ohio Northern and 33 against DePauw. 

Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 22, when the Flying Dutch host Adrian at DeVosFieldhouse. Start time is 6:30 p.m. at DeYoung Volleyball Gymnasium.
