No. 12 Hope Volleyball Sweeps Trine At Home

Freshman Vanessa Reynhout matched her career-high with nine kills as the 12th-ranked Hope College volleyball team swept Trine on Wednesday at DeVos Fieldhouse.

Reynhout, an outside hitter from Freeport, Michigan (Lakewood HS), shared game-high honors with junior outside hitter Sarah Feldpausch of White Cloud, Michigan (White Cloud HS).

The Flying Dutch (5-2 overall) won 25-17, 25-20, 25-12 to take over sole possession of second place in the MIAA standings. They are now 3-1 in league matches.

Sophomore Haley Muller of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS), chipped in seven kills against Trine, which fell to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in MIAA play.

Junior middle hitter Courtney Van Houzen of Traverse City, Michigan (Traverse City West HS), added five kills.

Senior setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport, Michigan (Fruitport HS), recorded 24 kills, 12 digs and four kills. 

Senior libero Allie Mitchell of Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Eastern HS), led three Hope players who had double-digit digs with 18.

The Flying Dutch return to action this weekend with four matches at the two-day Wittenberg, Ohio Fall Classic.
