Women’s Volleyball Sweep Baldwin Wallace for Season Opening Win

Adrian, Mich. – The Adrian College women's volleyball team defeated visiting Baldwin Wallace University on opening night in three straight sets (25-23, 25-23 and 25-22). Freshman Olivia Welch led the team offensively with 11 kills and one service ace. She also contributed 14 digs.

Seniors Nicole Motz had a strong game leading the team in assists with 29. Fellow senior Jordan Brisson also provided support in the win with seven kills and 10 digs.

Juniors Sydney Martines and Inessa Bell added to the attack by contributing six kills and five kills respectively.

The Bulldogs look to take the momentum from the win into this weekend's MIAA/HCAC Crossover Tournament which is being hosted at home in Adrian. The tournament will start this Friday, September 4 and end Saturday, September 5. The Bulldogs will face Earlham at 5 p.m. and Anderson at 7 p.m. the first day. They will conclude the tournament the following day facing Mt. St. Joseph at 12 p.m. and Manchester at 4 p.m. the second day.
