Seven MIAA Individuals, One Relay Qualify for 2023 NCAA Women's Track and Field Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- On Friday, the NCAA announced the selections for the 2023 NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will be held May 25-27 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York.

Four MIAA programs will send at least one competitor to the national event.  Calvin University will be represented by three athletes competing at the NCAA Championships.  Two individuals and one relay from Hope College qualified for the national event.  Both Adrian College and Albion College will be represented by one qualifier.

Hope senior Ana Tucker, the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Track Athlete, qualified for two events.  Tucker will first compete as the fourth seed in the 5000m run with a seed time of 16:10.91.  She was also seeded fourth for the 10,000m with a time of 34:24.97.  Tucker will be joined by Albion senior Megan McCulloch in the 10,000m event.  McCulloch is the No. 22 seed with a time of 36:11.27.

In her first national outdoor championship, Hope freshman Sara Schermerhorn will compete as the ninth seed in the 200m dash with a season-best time of 24.39.

Sophomore Knight Karen Bekhet qualified for the discus throw with a toss of 44.99m to claim the thirteenth seed.

Adrian junior Cailey Beaudoin is seeded fifteenth for the high jump with a season-best performance of 1.68m.

The 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Field Athlete, Calvin freshman RyAnn Rohrer, will compete as the eighteenth seed in the shot put (13.71m).

Sophomore Knight Jenna Allman is seeded nineteenth in the 3000m steeplechase with a qualifying time of 10:48.93.

Hope's 4x400m relay is seeded tenth for the national event (3:49.54).  The Flying Dutch quartet will include senior Julie Timperman, Schermerhorn, junior Erin Moran, and senior Grace Behrens.

For each individual event contested, including the decathlon and heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition.  For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
