Calvin Women Win MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Title

The Calvin women's track and field team was the team champion for the 28th consecutive season Friday as the Knights won by nearly 50 points thanks to strong individual performances.

Women's Update

Calvin's Jenna Dyksen was a three-time winner, placing first in the 100m hurdles (14.78), 400m hurdles (1:04.14) and the triple jump (11.01m) to aid the Knights in defending their MIAA title. Albion's Emilee Kinney was a two-time winner in the 100m dash (12.47) and 200m dash (25.79) and Trine's Kara Eck was victorious in the shot put (13.59m) and hammer (57.02m).

Men's Update

Calvin won six events on the track and added three field event wins to capture the 2017 MIAA title. The Knights boasted a three-time winner in Brendan VanHouten, who won the shot put (14.43m), hammer (52.57m) and discus (43.07m). Trine's Patrick Richardville won both the 100m dash (10.82) and 200m dash (21.59) and had a leg on Trine's winning 4x100m relay (42.05).
