Hope College's Kevin Cole Tabbed 2024 MIAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) proudly announces Hope College's Kevin Cole as the 2024 Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.

This prestigious accolade is a coaches vote based on the achievements of their colleagues both during regular- and post-season competition.

Cole was selected as the 2024 Women's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after leading the Flying Dutch to their second-consecutive MIAA title.

"I am honored to be able to coach such an incredible group of young women who love to work hard and love to win," commented Cole.  "We are looking forward to the upcoming national meet and then we hope to keep the momentum going during the outdoor season.  Thank you to all the other MIAA coaches for making our league a fun place to compete."

Under the leadership of Cole, Hope garnered six All-MIAA First Team selections this season including both the the distance medley relay and the record-breaking 4x400m relay, senior Rebecca Markham in both the 3000m run and the 5000m run, and record-breaking performances in the 200m dash and the 400m dash by sophomore Sara Schermerhorn.  

Cole, a Hope college alum, is in his nineteenth year at the helm of both the indoor and the outdoor track and field programs.
