INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- On Sunday, March 5, the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants in the 2023 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships. The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) will be represented by ten individuals and one relay at the national event which will be held March 10-11 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.
On the women's side, Hope College senior Ana Tucker received two top-seven seeds for the championships. Tucker will compete as the No. 2 seed in the mile run (4:50.33) and as the seventh-seeded runner in the 3000m run (9:36.11). Calvin University junior Jenna Allman will also compete in the 3000m run with a seed time of 9:45.17.
Hope's qualifying distance medley relay (11:47.02) will include senior Ellie Jankowski, classmate Grace Behrens, freshman Madison Stern, and Tucker.
Adrian College junior Cailey Beaudoin will participate in the high jump with a seed mark of 1.67m.
Hope's Sara Schermerhorn will close out her inaugural year with the Flying Dutch as a competitor in the 200m dash (24.96).
On the men's side, Olivet College senior Jordon Brown punched his ticket into both the 200m dash (21.57) and the 400m dash (48.20).
Trine University senior Jake Gladieux will compete as the sixth-seeded participant in the 60m hurdles (8.10).
Adrian's Theo Shepherd will wrap up his first year with the Bulldogs as a qualifier in the high jump (2.04m).
Senior Mason Darden of Albion College qualified for the weight throw with a toss of 18.71m.
Hope senior Eli Meder punched his ticket into the 800m run with a time of 1:51.67, while Calvin senior Brandan Knepper will compete in the 5000m run with a seed time of 14:13.74.
