NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Twenty-one women's indoor track and field student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) were recognized with All-Great Lakes Region accolades by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on March 8, 2022. The student-athletes totaled 33 All-Region honors. In addition, Trine senior Evie (Bultemeyer) Miller was named the Great Lakes Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year.
Miller earned four All-Great Lakes Region accolades on top of her Athlete of the Year honor. She was the top-regional performer in the mile, the 3000m run, and the 5000m run.
Calvin junior Sadie Heeringa received three regional honors. Heeringa participated in the top-regional distance medley relay this season.
Seven student-athletes received All-Region accolades for two events, including: Albion junior Cianna Brown (triple jump, 4x400m relay), Albion freshman Avery Campbell (60m, 4x400m relay), Albion junior Lauren McDowell (long jump, 4x400m relay), Calvin sophomore Delaney Sall (800m, top-regional performing distance medley relay), Hope junior Grace Behrens (400m, distance medley relay), Hope junior Ana Tucker (5000m, distance medley relay), and Haley Livingston (long jump, 60m hurdles).
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region’s top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the cross country season.
