On Sunday, March 6, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the official qualifiers for the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.  Nine student-athletes and two relays will be representing the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) at the championships which will be held March 11-22 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

A total of seven MIAA student-athletes were seeded in the top nine of their events.

On the women's side, Trine senior Evie (Bultemeyer) Miller received two top-five seeds for the championships.  She will compete as the No. 2 seed in the mile run (4:47.96) and as the fifth-seeded runner in the 3000m event (9:37.54).  Calvin's Sadie Heeringa was seeded seventh in the 3000m run with a qualifying time of 9:46.32.

Miller's teammate, senior Valerie Obear, was seeded second in the weight throw with a qualifying performance of 19.00m.  Alma senior Bailey Hoffman will also compete in the weight throw (16.78m).

Calvin sophomore Delaney Sall will compete as the No. 3 seed with her qualifying time of 2:11.79 in the 800m run.

Junior Ana Tucker of Hope was seeded sixth in the 5000m run with a season-best qualifying time of 17:05.30.

Alma junior Ericka Bigham will compete in the 400m after qualifying with a time of 58.09.

Calvin's distance medley relay (11:56.80) that is competing at the championships will include Sall, freshman Cora Moore, sophomore Jenna Allman, and Heeringa.

On the men's side, Adrian senior Derek Plitt will represent the conference in both the 60m dash and the 200m dash (21.90).  Plitt was seeded fifth in the 60m dash with a qualifying time of 6.79.

Trine junior Jake Gladieux will race as the ninth seed in the 60m hurdles (8.14).

Hope's qualifying distance medley relay (10:00.74) include freshman Connor Vachon, senior Nathan Trumble, sophomore Elijah Meder, and senior Nick Hoffman.
