NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships - Day Two Recap

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Individuals from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) earned several All-America honors after competing on day two of the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Trine University senior Evie (Bultemeyer) Miller claimed second place in the mile after clocking in at 4:48.16, exactly 10 seconds quicker than her prelims time.  Miller became a two-time All American this season after finishing fourth in the 3000m with a time of 9:47.27.  Calvin's Sadie Heeringa finished the 3000m in fifth place after clocking in at 9:47.32.

Junior Jake Gladieux of Trine claimed fifth place in the 60m hurdles.  After setting his own school record yesterday at 8.10, Gladieux eclipsed his record with a time of 8.058 today.

Adrian senior Derek Plitt improved on his seventh-place time of 6.85 from prelims and earned the No. 2 spot in the 60m dash after clocking in at 6.81 during the finals.  Plitt also finished second in the 200m dash, breaking his school record that he set yesterday (21.76) with a time of 21.62 in the finals.

Sophomore Delaney Sall of Calvin concluded the 800m run in eighth place with a time of 2:15.40.
