Around the MIAA
Adrian
The Adrian College track and field team competed in the Midwest Elite Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater. The Bulldogs faced top-ranked teams in No. 4 UW-La Crosse, No. 5 Washington University in St. Louis, No. 10 Carthage, No. 21 Wartburg, and No. 22 UW-Stevens Point. The women’s team did not place high enough to score team points.
Albion
On Friday, the Britons sent Megan McColloch and Kenna Childress to compete at GVSU's big meet. McColloch completed the 5000m in 18:55.57, which was a personal best and the fifth best time in Albion history. Childress completed her 5000m run in 19:31.14, which was also a personal best. At Aquinas College, Sam Bieth finished second in the 1-mile run with a personal best time of 5:38.49.
Alma
The track and field team competed at the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge Feb. 14. Charley Hengesbach won the women's shot put with a distance of 12.23 meters. Sophie Patrick threw for a distance of 11.45 meters, good for sixth place. Hengesbach also finished fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 13.47 meters. Stephanie Davis won the women's 600-meter dash with a time of 1:50.60. Madeline McDonnell finished fifth in 2:15.44.

Hope
Mitchel Achien’g and Jenna Breuker each set Hope College women’s track and field indoor records on Friday at the North Central College Pat Heenan Invitational in Naperville, Illinois. Achien’g surpassed her own top marks in the 60-meter hurdles and the triple jump. Breuker eclipsed her best in the shot put. In the triple jump, Achien’g recorded a fourth-place leap of 11.03 meters. In the 60-meter hurdles, Achien’g clocked a fourth-place time of 9.10 seconds to surpass her previous best of 9.22. In the shot put, Breuker posted a fourth-place shot put of 12.17 meters (39-11 ¼).
Olivet
Two Olivet student-athletes competed at the Grand Valley State "Big Meet." Sophomore Kaylee Richardson ran the 5000-meter run indoors for the first time in her Comet career, and finished in 20:26.31. Using a new technique, sophomore Lillian Albaugh had a mark of 39 feet, 9-1/4 inches in the shot put.
Trine
Trine finished first at the DePauw Invitational...Alli Smith finished second in the 3000-meter run (10:22.82) and Amira Faulkner finished second in the mile (5:19.31) and was third in the 800-meter run (2:24.26)...Valerie Obear won the weight throw with a toss of 53' 2.75"...individuals also competed at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday with Evie Bultemeyer finishing second in the mile (4:53.27) and seventh in the 800-meter run (2:11.96) against opponents from NCAA Division I, II and NAIA schools...both marks were also Trine indoor records.
