Around the MIAA
Adrian
The Bulldogs traveled to Ohio Northern over the weekend to take place in their second meet of the season. Britney Carnagie finished in second place in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.63. Adrian place fourth in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:56.12. The women finished fifth out of seven with 34 points.
Albion
Albion finished fourth out of seve teams with 78 points after competing in the Larry Cole Invite that was hosted by Ohio Northern University Jan. 24. Anna Albaugh led the way with two PR's in the Weight throw 13.20m (43' 3.75") and Shot Put 11.89m (39' 00.35") Scoring 11 points and placing sixth and second in the two events.
Alma
Freshman Cornelia Gotaas (Alma, Mich.) finished 800-meter run in 2:31.84 and junior Audrey Padilla (Manistee, Mich.) finished the 400-meter run in 1:02.04 for Alma at SVSU's Jet's Pizza Invitational. Both set new PRs and places them in the top 10 for both events in Alma's indoor track and field history. Senior Aubrey Hemstreet (Portage, Mich.) completed the one mile run with a time of 5:43.14, placing her 23rd out of 47 competitors.
Calvin
Did not compete.
Hope
Hope College's Mitchel Achien'g placed 16th in the indoor heptathlon at the Saginaw Valley State University Jet's Pizza Invitational last week. The senior from Nairobi, Kenya totaled 2,398 points over five events.
Olivet
Olivet opened its 2020 season by competing at the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invitational. On the track, sophomore Kaylee Richardson ran an indoor personal-best time of 11:46.52 in the 3000-meter run. In the field events, sophomore Lillian Albaugh had Olivet's top finish, as she was ninth of 36 throwers in the shot put with a heave of 41 feet, 4-1/2 inches.
Trine
Placed fifth at the Snow Day Invitational hosted by North Central (Ill.) College...junior Evie Bultemeyer was the team's lone event winner by capturing the mile with a winning mark of 4:59.94.
