The Bulldogs closed out their fall slate with a 6-3 home win over Heidelberg on Thursday. Sara Anthony led the scoring, victorious at second-singles (6-1, 6-0). Anthony then paired with Julia Maltbie at third-doubles for an 8-1 win.
Albion (0-1, 0-0)
Breh Ruger won the No. 2 singles match for the only point Albion College would score in an 8-1 loss to Alma College in women’s tennis action. Ruger split sets with Abigail Davenport, but she rallied to take the tiebreaker to decide the match.
Alma (4-0, 0-0)
The Scots rolled past Albion 8-1 on Friday (Sept. 27), bringing the Scots' record to 4-0. Freshman Amanda Szymborski, senior Bernadette Garibay (Lansing, Mich.), junior Lucy McCarthy (Rockford, Mich.) and sophomore Emily McDonald (Wheeler, Mich.) all won their singles matches in straight sets; Alma also won each of their doubles matches in straight sets.
Calvin (0-1, 0-0)
The Calvin women's tennis team closed out its 2019 fall season with a 6-3 non-conference loss to IU-Kokomo Friday afternoon inside the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center. Calvin claimed a doubles point at No. 1 doubles as sophomore Maria Poortenga and junior Alexis Bonner were 8-2 winners. Sophomore Grace Brown was a winner at No. 3 singles while Bonner claimed a win at No. 4 singles. IU-Kokomo pulled out the match by winning super tiebreakers at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

The Hornets look ahead to four home matches in February to begin its spring season.

Prolonged rain throughout the weekend washed out the Belles' lone competition of the week as the Holy Cross Tournament slated for Sunday was canceled. The Belles conclude their fall season on Friday when they travel to Hillsdale for a one-day tournament.
Trine (0-5, 0-0)
The Thunder fell in their lone contest of the week to finish off the fall portion of their season with an 0-5 record. Sophomore Ashley Spirrison (Fishers, Ind.) picked up the lone point for the team in the match as the team lost to Grace College 8-1.
