Around the MIAA
Adrian
The Adrian College women’s tennis team lost all three matches it played last week, each by a score of 9-0. The Bulldogs played Lawrence Tech on Wednesday, Grace College (Ind.) on Thursday, and Cornerstone on Saturday. The team is now finished with fall matches and will next compete in Florida when the team takes a spring break trip to Orlando in March.
Albion
Lauren Solano (Trenton, Mich.) won her first round singles match in the ITA Central Region Championship last weekend, turning back a rival from John Carroll University in straight sets (6-1, 6-2)
Alma
The Alma College women's tennis team swept Olivet 9-0 on Saturday (Sept. 22). The Scots dropped just one set the entire day in singles competition. Otherwise, seven of the other eight matches easily - by five games in doubles and all singles in straight sets.

Hope
The Hope College women's tennis team concluded fall play by playing in two days of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Regional hosted by Kalamazoo College. Two singles players won all four matches they played: juniors Amanda Bandrowski and Claire Hallock. Sydney Jackson also won twice for Hope.
Kalamazoo
The Kalamazoo College women's tennis team competed at the ITA Central Region Championships in Kalamazoo Sept. 21-24. Maddy Winarski won her first two singles matches to advance to Saturday's Round of 32. The doubles teams of Sonal Bahl/Helen Pelak and Caroline Norton/Maddy Winarski each won their first round match to advance to Saturday's Round of 32. Caroline Norton won three matches in the backdraw to advance to Sunday's backdraw quarterfinals.
Olivet
The Olivet College women's tennis team wrapped-up the fall portion of its schedule with a 9-0 loss to Alma College. The most competitive match of the day came at No. 3 singles. After losing the first set, 6-3, junior Sydnie Weller rebounded to win the second set, 6-2. A super-tiebreaker determined the winner, and Weller lost 10-7.
