Hope Loses in Second Round of NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship

The Hope College women's tennis team went serve for serve with 13th-ranked Kenyon College (Ohio) before finally falling, 5-3, during the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday in Gambier, Ohio.

The Flying Dutch won at No. 1 singles with juniors Claire Hallock and Amanda Bandrowski. In singles play, the Flying Dutch earned points at No. 2 with Bandrowski and No. 4 with freshman Sydney Jackson.

Hope started with with a 5-0 sweep of Principia in the First Round May 9. Bailey Chorney and Amanda Bandrowski each won in singles and doubles play to aid the Flying Dutch; Chorney at No. 3 doubles (8-3) and No. 5 singles (6-0, 6-0), and Bandrowski at No. 1 doubles (8-3) and No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-0).

Claire Hallock and Amanda Bandrowski will both represent Hope and the MIAA in the singles portion of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships May 25-26 at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich.
