Hope Wins MIAA Women's Tennis Championship

The Hope women's tennis team finished an unbeaten Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association season Wednesday with a 9-0 victory over Adrian to win the 2019 MIAA Women's Tennis Championship.

The MIAA title is fifth consecutive for Hope and seventh in eight years. Overall, the Flying Dutch have won 26 MIAA regular season titles.

The Flying Dutch won all six singles matches against Adrian on Wednesday in straight sets after winning all three doubles matches.

Hope (8-0, 15-5), ranked No. 32 nationally by the ITA, lost only one set in eight MIAA matches (8-1 vs. Kalamazoo, April 1).

As the regular season champion, Hope will be the top seed in the 2019 MIAA Women's Tennis Tournament May 1 & 3. A bracket of the four-team postseason event will be available after the conclusion of all MIAA regular season competition.
