All-MIAA - Swimming & Diving - 2020-21

At the conclusion of the 2021 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships, the head coaches of the six member institutions that sponsor the sport selected All-MIAA honorees.

On the women's side, Hope senior Emma Schaefer became a two-time MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer after three individual victories and aiding the Flying Dutch in the winning 400 medley relay.  Schaefer broke the MIAA record in the 200 breast with a time of 2:18.55 (previous record of 2:19.74 from 2011).

Calvin senior Hannabeth Magnussen swept the diving competition over the weekend after notching a victory on the one-meter board with 450.90 points and winning the three-meter dive with 451.45 points.

Among the women's All-MIAA honorees, Schaefer and Calvin senior Hannah Chao became four-time All-MIAA swimmers.

For the men, Calvin senior Julian Iturbe repeated as the Most Valuable Swimmer for the third-straight season after breaking MIAA-championship records in the 200 free, the 500 free, and the 200 IM, and swimming in the winning relays including the 400 free relay (broke record in 100 free), the 800 free relay, the 200 medley relay, and the 400 medley relay.

Hope junior Kamaron Wilcox and Kalamazoo sophomore Sam Ankley were named co-Most Valuable Divers.  Wilcox is a two-time Most Valuable Diver and Ankley is receiving this accolade for the first time.

Among the men's All-MIAA honorees, Iturbe and Albion senior Jake Huttenlocher garnered All-MIAA accolades for the fourth-consecutive year.

The Most Valuable Swimmer and Diver awards are voted on and announced immediately after the conclusion of the MIAA Swimming & Diving Championship. Individuals that are an MIAA champion in an individual event automatically qualify for All-MIAA honors. The remaining slots are voted on by the coaches.
