Albion's Rileigh Eding became the first Albion women's 50 free winner since 1995 during day two of the 2020 MIAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championship, hosted by Calvin at Venema Aquatic Center. Eding won the sprint in 23.87; earlier in the day, Eding swam 23.68 in the prelims to achive an NCAA B cut time.
Four different teams registered an MIAA championship effort on Thursday. Calvin was a two-time winner, taking the title in the 200 free relay with an NCAA B cut time of 1:35.04, and the 3-meter diving board with Hannabeth Magnussen's score of 438.20.
Hope added two wins to their score, with Emma Schaefer first winning the 200 IM (2:05.29) for an NCAA B cut, and then aiding the Flying Dutch to an evening-capping win in the 200 medley relay (3:52.76). Schaefer's IM win marks the second consecutive victory in the event for the Hope junior.
Kalamazoo's Mary Trimble won the 500 free, pulling away in the second half of the race to touch first in 5:07.28.
Calvin moved into first with 345 points, with Hope trailing with 315 points. Albion stands in third with 275 points.

Calvin's Julian Iturbe quickly turned around from a leg on the Knights' winning 200 free relay to re-set the MIAA record in the 500 free to highlight day two of the 2020 MIAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship, hosted by Calvin at Venema Aquatic Center. Iturbe improved the record to 4:28.14, which currently ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division III.
Calvin holds a slight lead with 301 points over second-place Hope (292 points) and third-place Albion (289 points).
Thursday marked the second consecutive day an MIAA meet record fell, after Calvin set the 800 free relay record on Wednesday.
The 200 free relay featured three NCAA B cut times: along with Calvin's winning time of 1:21.09, Hope (1:21.92) and Kalamazoo (1:22.41) also reached the mark.
Hope was a three-time winner on Thursday, with Dan Clyde taking first in the 200 IM (1:50.76) for an NCAA B cut. The Flying Dutchmen also ended the evening with a championship swim in the 400 medley relay, touching first in 3:19.70 for an NCAA B cut, with Clyde swimming the butterfly leg.
Hope also had an individual champion on the 1-meter board, with Kamaron Wilcox taking the win with a score of 447.60.
Calvin's Noah Holstege became the third different Knight swimmer in as many years to win the 50 free (20.44) for an NCAA B cut.
