MIAA Women's Swimming & Diving Week #7 Wrap-Up

MIAA Women's Swimming & Diving Week #7 Wrap-Up

• Calvin edged past rival Hope Jan. 7, despite eight event victories by Hope. Needing to finish 1-2 in the 400 free relay to conclude the meet, Calvin's top quartets did so to take the win. Abby Van Harn (Jr., Grand Rapids, Mich.), who anchored both Calvin's winning relay teams in the 400 free and 200 medley, also was victorious in the 50 free and 100 free. Hope notably swept the 100 butterfly, bolstered by a first-place effort from Erin Emmert (Fr., Grand Blanc, Mich.).

• Kalamazoo cruised to a 139-64 victory over Olivet Jan. 7 in MIAA dual action. Lesli Washington (So., Dearborn, Mich.) had two inidividual wins for the Hornets, capturing victories in the 50 free and 100 free events; Washington also led off the Hornets' 200 free relay team that touched first in 1:46.07.

• Albion defeated Southwestern (Texas) Jan. 3, 172-105, to wrap up their winter training trip. The Brits will led by Sarah Kilbride (Jr., Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Anna Moore (So., Battle Creek, Mich.), who not only won twice individually, but teamed on Albion's 200 medley relay team to touch first in the meet's opening event. Kilbride won the 200 breast and 200 IM, while Moore was the winner in the 50 free and 200 back.
