Five MIAA Women's Soccer Players Tabbed All-Region by United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five women's soccer players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) earned a spot on the 2023 United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-Region VIII list, including two on the First Team.

Calvin University's Lucy Iverson and Liz Williams both received First Team All-Region VIII recognition.

Sophomore defender Lucy Iverson is now a two-time First Team All-Region honoree.  She was voted the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row after leading the Knights to a 7-1 league finish.  Iverson also helped Calvin to the 2023 MIAA Women's Soccer Tournament title, the third round of the 2023 NCAA Division III Tournament, and an overall record of 16-2-3.  In starting all 21 matches this season, Iverson assisted the Knights in holding their opponents to just sixteen goals.  She also contributed four goals, including two game winners, and one assist.  Iverson is a two-time First Team All-MIAA honoree.

Senior forward Liz Williams is a three-time All-MIAA honoree.  She concluded the 2023 campaign as the conference leader with 13 assists, 27 points, and 68 shots, while also scoring six goals.

Calvin's Mia Judd and Hope College's Jenna Mustapha and Carley Wagasy all received Second Team All-Region VIII recognition.

Mia Judd, a sophomore midfielder, received a spot on the All-MIAA First Team following her performance this season.  She finished top five in the league with nine goals, 19 points, 62 shots, and three game-winning goals.  Judd recorded the most playing minutes of any field player on the Calvin squad this season.

Senior defender Jenna Mustapha is now a three-time All-Region honoree.  She assisted the Flying Dutch to an overall record of 10-2-6, including a 6-1-1 mark in conference competition.  Mustapha became a four-time All-MIAA honoree this season.  She helped the Hope team hold its opponents to just fourteen goals on the season while she contributed four assists of her own.

Carley Wagasky, a junior forward, earned her first All-Region nod in her inaugural season at Hope.  Wagasky concluded the season in the league's top five with nine goals, 19 points, 62 shots, and three game-winning goals.
