Dylag Named Head Women's Soccer Coach at Alma College

ALMA, Mich. – Kate Dylag has been hired as the head women's soccer coach as announced by Director of Athletics Sarah Dehring on Friday, June 24.  

"We are thrilled to announce Kate Dylag as the Alma College head women's soccer coach," said Dehring.

"She brings a wide variety of quality experiences that will assist in moving us to the next level. Her dedication, loyalty, and commitment to understanding the person and not just the player fits the Alma College mission and values." 

Dylag joins us from George Washington University where she served as the assistant women's soccer coach since the start of the 2018 academic year. 

"I am extremely honored, humbled, and excited to have been selected as the next head women's soccer coach at Alma College. I want to thank Sarah Dehring, President Abernathy, and the entire search committee for this opportunity," said Dylag.

Dylag spent four seasons with the Colonials. In her first season at GW, the team competed in the Atlantic 10 Championship for the sixth consecutive season to ty the longest streak in the A-10 tournament since 1993-98, the program's first years as an A-10 competitor.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Tanya Vogel, John Square and Michelle Demko and the entire George Washington University community for their mentorship during my time in the Buff and Blue," Dylag said.

Prior to her time at George Washington University, Dylag spent five seasons at Miami University, where she helped guide the squad to the ACC quarterfinal in 2016.

Dylag joined Miami after serving as the assistant coach at the University of Albany and led the Great Danes to the best season in program history in 2011. She also spent a season coaching at Clemson University in 2010 and one as the assistant coach at Duquesne University in 2009. Dylag has also coached at North Carolina State University (2007-08) and Central Michigan University (2003-07).

"During the interview process I realized what a special place Alma College is and am looking forward to working with a community whose core values align so closely with mine," explained Dylag.
